Course Withdrawals and Incompletes

Graduate students may withdraw from courses by the date scheduled on the academic calendar for each term. A grade of "W" will be entered on the transcript for the course. Graduate students seeking to withdraw from a course after that deadline must petition the Associate Dean of the Faculty.

Incompletes are granted by the Associate Dean of the Faculty, after consultation with the program advisor, the instructor of the course, and the graduate student. The normal extension is 20 days or less and the instructor must submit the grade for the course within an additional 10 days. Failure to meet these deadlines results in a recorded grade of "F" by the Registrar. Students are normally expected to complete all work in the term which they register and are granted incompletes only for severe extenuating circumstances.
