ALUMNI NEWS NOTES
Class of 1995
Nigel Creightney: Hi! How is everybody doing? Well, I just
received the letter for the Geology Alumni Newsletter (Canadian
mail is very slow, we still use horses out here in the west). So,
you want to know what I am doing now, well after my long journey
back home to Vancouver I decided to take a few months off
(actually I couldn't find any work). Presently, I just finished
up working three weeks at a local hockey school. They paid me 15
bucks an hour to yell at kids in an attempt to teach them some
hockey skills. I am now about to head off to the University of
Calgary, where I will be taking some courses as an unclassified
student, while I'm trying to get into a M.Sc. internship program
in geology (as usual I didn't get my applications in on time for
this term). So, if all goes well I maybe starting the spring term
(I will be asking for references once again very soon!). I also,
have an agent working for me, no I am not starting a modeling
career, he is looking for semi-pro hockey teams for me to play
for. This is just in case I don't get into school so I will have
something to do, it's rather ironic that hockey is now my second
priority. Anyway, Vancouver is as beautiful as ever and if
anybody ever wants to come out and visit there is always room at
the Creightney residence. I hope that everybody is doing well, I
miss the whole geology department. P.S. Chief would probably
like to hear that Frozen Margarittas are very popular here
(Vancouver), but Rye seems to be the drink of choice over Scotch!
(We call Rye Indian Water!) (submitted '96)
Brian Finnegan:
Added child #2 to the family in October 2005. I have a son who's 2 1/2 and my daughter
who is just about 7 months old. Still living close to the beach in NJ and fitting in some
surfing and fishing when I can between work and family. Can't wait until the kids are old
enough to come with me.

Lynn Hettinger: I had a great summer (even though it was about
1000 degrees in Texas) and it was a great experience. I'm taking
Glacial geology, Geochemistry, and P-chem and they are going well
so far. (Even p-chem which I was very scared to take.) Not much
else to report. (submitted '96)
Emily Jeary: I have just finished my second journey across
country, considering my first was OC '94. I visited South Dakota
Badlands and Black Hills, as well as Yellowstone, Grand Tetons
and Glacier. Glacier Park was the best by a long shot. My next
plans include hanging out at home for 2 months and then going to
Australia to live and work for a year. Hope all is well. (submitted '96)
Bonnie Kubit: Katrina (LH) and I are looking forward to going to
UMass. (submitted '96)
Frederick Schroeder: After graduation and pretty much all summer
I was leading Outdoor Education/Recreation trips in Maine and New
York. I have recently moved to DC and will be looking for a job
there this fall. (submitted '96)
Jennifer Thibeau: I drove cross country (LA to Boston) and
visited Erika at the Grand Canyon along the way. Now I'm trying
to get a job for the year before going to U. South Carolina next
fall to get my master's. (submitted '96)
