Ezra Benjamin: Hello, I am currently getting my masters in igneous geochemistry at Boston University. I am studying Irazu Volcano in Costa Rica. I recently got to do some field work down there. I am also hanging out with fellow geology grads Luke Dwyer, Megan Mitchell and Caroline Olson. We are all in the Boston area. Also, I ran into Stacey Joyce the other day in the city. (submitted 6/03)
Gary Braham: I just completed my first year as a high school teacher in Lake Luzerne NY. It has been a challenging year, but also a lot of fun. (submitted 6/03)
Luke Dwyer: For all the geo folks who don't know, Colgate Geology graduates, specifically the class of 2002, are taking over the environmental division of the company I work for, Coneco Engineers and Scientists, an environmental consultant firm in Bridgewater, Mass. Lead by our fearless project manager, Jedd Steinglass ('99), myself, Emily Toffic ('02), Megan Mitchell ('02), and recently added Caroline Olson ('02) comprise five of the seven employees in our division.

Life is great and working with so many familiar faces makes the office a far more pleasant place to be. Other than that, I've just been enjoying life in Boston and attending several Sox games with Ezra Benjamin ('02).

Emily Duncan: All is well in Denver! I've been married over a year now and am enjoying life in the front range. Still working with ERM, heading up sustainability and climate change work for our Western Division. Missing Colgate as always, and itching for that 10 year reunion for an excuse to get back to campus (submitted July 2010)
Hello Geologists! First of all - let this serve as an extremely belated enormous thank you, THANK YOU, to those faculty members who graciously agreed to write letters of recommendation for my grad school apps. I am extremely embarassed it has taken me this long to fill you in on my going-ons.

I have just finished my first year of grad school at Duke! I am in the middle of earning my Masters in Environmental Management (MEM), focusing on climate change and associated energy resources. It's no Colgate, but I'm very excited about my studies. One of my advisors (Paul Baker) remembers TA-ing Bruce back at Rochester! This summer I am interning with Dominion E&P, back at home in Houston, helping them get their greenhouse gas initiatives up and running. It's extremely challenging, but I am learning a ton, plus my geology background really comes in handy!

I am forever proud of my alma mater and the geology department. Whenever I mention Colgate geology to my professors at Duke, they are quick to sing praises. Of other exciting news, my little sister will be an incoming freshman this year!! She rolls her eyes when I mention geology, but I've insisted that she must fulfill one distribution requirement in Lathrop.

Furthermore, Emily Toffic and I will be up in the Chenango Valley early August for a Colgate wedding! Perhaps we can make a visit if time permits!!

Cat (Healy): Catherine ('02) and Brian Byrne ('04) had a baby girl, Bridget Gloria Byrne Nov 16th 2010. Robert (Geology ) '76 and Gay Byrne '76 are Bridgets paternal grandparents! Shes a Colgate quadchip! :) (submitted Jan 2011)

After graduation, I got a job in orthopaedic medical sales with one company and recently switched over to a new company, Johnson and Johnson DePuy Orthopaedics-concentrating in Orthobiologics. I recently moved into an apartment in Cold Spring Harbor, New York (still on Long Island). I love it here. Im looking forward to alumni weekend this weekend:May 30th 2003. Scott Michel: I am currently teaching Earth Science at Hilton High School and am married to a fellow 2002 Colgate alumnus, Lea Vacca Michel. I am also a co-founder and organizer of a music festival for land conservation (www.Conserfest.org). This April, Lea and I had a beautiful baby girl, Laralyn, and we are all living together in Rochester, NY. (submitted July 2010)
This spring, I spent two months travelling around New Zealand and Australia. It was an amazing trip and I had fun exploring some great geology, especially the Tongariro volcanic region of New Zealand.

I am begining graduate school at the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester in September 2003. I will be working towards getting a Master's in Education and my teaching certificate.

Etienne Morin: Hey everyone! just recently returned home where cold weather still gives you frost bites in May, where mounties still ride their horses in the streets, and where people say EH! as if they received a bonus for everytime they said it. It's also nice to be in a place where it doesn't say "Imported" on a bottle of Labatt Blue eh. I spent the year playing minor-pro hockey in Indianapolis, good times eh! I am now home nursing an injury and l ooking for a job eh. Anyone coming through Quebec City is always welcome to stay with the Morins eh. You need to know at least one word of french though. Jane Murray: Greetings Everyone! So for the last year and a half I have been feverishly assisting with renovations and the complete recapitulation of the Arthur Ross Hall of Meteorites at the Museum of Natural History in NYC. Most of my work was based on gathering and writing content for the hall as well as assisting with case design and sample preparation. I worked very closely with the curator of meteorites and the exhibition dept. I even had the opportunity to go to Meteor Crater in Arizona to gather samples and take pictures so we could build a scale model for the exhibit. The hall opened Sept. 20th and was a huge success, and as a permanent hall it should last for 20+ years.

While this was all happening I managed to present a poster at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference in Houston March 2003, titled "Unambiguous voids in Allende chondrules and refractory inclusions." Hope everyone is doing well! ~Jane (submitted 10/03)
