Low temperature geochemistry, clay petrology and mineralogy,
acid rain, lake acidification and forest decline, aluminum biogeochemistry.
Research areas include the Smoky, Sierra Nevada, Cascade, White and Adirondack Mountains of the US;
West Germany; Sweden; Norway; Canada; and Australia.
