Amy Leventer Receives NSF Travel Grant
In March of 2005, Associate Professor Amy Leventer was awarded $22,900 from the National Science Foundation
in order to fund travel to Japan for the International Polar Diatom Workshop scheduled for August of 2005.
This workshop will allow collaboration among polar diatomists from
around the world in order to better unify their methods of taxonomic classification and their ideas on the use of
diatoms as indicators of paleoenvironmental conditions in an attempt to better understand global climate change.
