The Natural
Sciences and Mathematics
AT COLGATE UNIVERSITY
Colgate University is divided into five academic
divisions: the Humanities; the Natural Sciences and Mathematics; the
Social Sciences; University Studies; and Physical Education, Recreation
and Athletics. The Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics comprises
departments and faculty of national repute. The Division is supervised
by a Director who coordinates the various academic departments and
programs and who reports to and advises the Dean of the Faculty.
The academic departments within the Division of Natural
Science and Mathematics are: Biology,
Chemistry,
Computer Science,
Geology,
Mathematics,
Physics & Astronomy, and Psychology
(including the Neuroscience
Program). The Division is also the home for the Health
Sciences Advisory Committee, supporting students interested in
careers in the health professions, and the Environmental

The Division sponsors a weekly
science colloquium and provides extensive student
research opportunities, during both the academic year and the
summer.
