Professor Holbrow is a nuclear physicist. His most recent work has been in collaboration with physicists at the heavy-ion research facility in Darmstadt, Germany. His strong interest in the history of physics and the origins of nuclear astrophysics, has led him to researching the biography of A. Ganot and the mechanics and mathematics of Lagrange. He is teaching the history of the making of the atomic bomb and is involved in several innovative curricular projects. He is president of the American Association of Physics Teachers.
