Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the National Honor Society in Psychology. Lifetime membership in Psi Chi is an earned honor, and there is a one-time membership fee (currently $35). Colgate's chapter of Psi Chi is supervised by Dr. Richard Braaten. Copies of Psi Chi's newsletter, Eye on Psi Chi, are distributed to inducted members. If you are a Colgate student who has achieved the requirements for membership, please see Dr. Braaten for an application!


Requirements for Membership to Colgate University's Chapter of Psi Chi

  1. Completion of at least 3 semesters of college.
  2. Completion of at least 3 psychology courses.
  3. Registration for a major or minor in psychology or a major in neuroscience.
  4. Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 and rank in the upper 35% of your class.
  5. Minimum overall psychology GPA of 3.00.
  6. High Standards of personal behavior.
  7. Two-thirds affirmative vote of those present at a regular meeting of the chapter.
