Thanks to the generosity of Robert H. N. Ho, we have a 55-seat digital theater here at Colgate. This is a state-of-the-art facility with the ability to display the sky showing planets, constellations, and other astronomical objects. In addition, the digital projector allows us to project 3D animations and shows made for an immersive dome environment.
The Robert M. Linsley Geology Museum is now open. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
It won't happen again until December 2117: On June 5th, 2012, Venus will transit the face of the sun. The best places to watch are in the mid-Pacific, but travel is not required. The event is widely visible around the world, including at sunset from the USA.
The Vis Lab is now able to issue the Astronomy merit badge to all Boy scouts. Reserve your group today by calling Joe Eakin 315-228-6125.
The Ho Tung Visualization Lab & Planetarium is located on the 4th floor of the Ho Science Center (at the top of the main staircase) in Room 401, which is handicapped accessible.
If you would like to book a private show please call Joe Eakin at 315-228-6125 or email vislab@colgate.edu.
