Thanks to the generosity of Robert H. N. Ho, we have a 55-seat digital theater here at Colgate. This is a state-of-the-art facility with the ability to display the sky showing planets, constellations, and other astronomical objects. In addition, the digital projector allows us to project 3D animations and shows made for an immersive dome environment.
The Ho Tung Visualization Lab is part of the Ho Science Center. The lab will be home to a variety of curriculum including: Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Geology, Art, etc. The lab is equipped with a 33’ diameter dome with an Evans & Sutherland Digistar 3 Laser system which will provide students with a unique opportunity to visualize science animations and see their subjects in a whole new light.
The Ho Tung Visualization Lab & Planetarium is located on the 4th floor of the Ho Science Center (at the top of the main staircase) in Room 401, which is handicapped accessible.
